Playing Dress Up With Vow to Be Chic

Uncategorized

March 25, 2015

I said hello to the wonderful women of Vow to Be Chic after hearing about them all over the internet. They made waves after they started a bridesmaid dress company that’s easy on eyes and even easier on your wallet.

Been a bridesmaid before?

Well, you’ll know what I’m talking about when I say pulling out your checkbook or your credit card and paying over $200 for a bridesmaid dress you’ll never (want to) wear again is a traumatic experience. Especially when, if you do the math, you’ll realize it takes you a lot of hours behind a computer screen or a cubicle desk to make that kind of cash flow.

Vow to Be Chic lets you rent designer dresses for the “big” day and when it’s all over, instead of sending it to the d ry cleaner and hoping they lose it or stuffing it in the back of your closet, you can just send it back.

I wanted to try this out for myself. So, my friend over at Vow to Be Chic were kind enough to send me a few of their favorite dresses to try on and review.

Here’s a look at what happened when I played dress up with bridesmaid dresses (that I truthfully didn’t want to ever have to send back).

Love: The color is a lot of fun to play with. It’s a gorgeous shade of champagne and is really easy to accessorize. You can dress it up with a chunky, bold statement necklace or add a burst of color with a bright pair of heels.

Keep in mind: The dress has a rather plunging neck line. So, be prepared. Know how to properly secure your lady parts before strutting your stuff down the aisle in this dress.

Love: It hugs your body, gently, like a brand new crush and the lace pattern helps hide any areas on your body that you wish you could leave behind when you’re getting ready to make your grand entrance at the wedding.

Keep in mind: It is a little tight so consider ordering a size up in this dress if you want a little wiggle room (I’m looking out for you, Spanx).

Like: You just want to twirl and twirl in this dress. It’s sophisticated with a side dish of “OMG, this is FUN!” I added a bold necklace to the dress to give it my own flair, but you can wear it with pearls or a more formal necklace, depending on the ambiance and style of the wedding.

Keep in mind: Another dress where the bra situation is tricky. A good, supportive, bra (like a bridesmaid) will help you get down on the dance floor without having to worry about anything going wrong!

Like: No, no. I loved this dress. It was hard to take it off. It’s part of their “Little White Dress” collection and it’s officially part of my secret Pinterest board of dresses I wish I could afford to buy and wear to fabulous places, like my own wedding (one of these days). It fit so well and almost molds to your own personal body type.

Keep in mind: Remember, you’re renting this dress so giving it back may be traumatizing. You’ll fall in love with it -this is my final warning.
