The #1 Registry Regret All Brides Have

Picking out items for your wedding registry can be one of the most exciting and fun-filled parts of your pre-wedding adventure. You’ll have the opportunity to walk around stores eyeballing items and appliances that you may need now, or in the future, for your new home with the love of your life.

Whether you already live with your spouse and have a house and kitchen filled with goodies or you’re about to move in together and need to buy almost everything from different home and appliance stores, deciding what goes on your registry can be a time consuming challenge.

Either way, the number one registry regret all brides have is that they don’t have enough items up on their registry for guests to purchase. Perhaps they will register for 100 items and are planning on inviting 250 people. That’ll leave a chunk of people with nothing available for them to purchase on the registry and instead leave them giving cash, which is the best-case scenario, or have them buying something off your registry, which can be a nightmare.

If they bring you a gift you didn’t register for, you may find yourself with a headache trying to figure out what store it came from and then figuring out how you can return it without getting store credit or being forced to keep the item in your garage, unused, forever.

So when you’re creating a registry, make sure you have more items on there than you need. Another good tip is to make sure that the items on your registry are in all different price ranges, giving your guests a lot of options of what is available for them to buy in accordance to what their gift price range is.

In order to avoid having people go off your registry, check your registry every week and see how many items you have left. If it’s running low or you saw a lot of people bought items in one price category, head back to the store and add more items to your registry. That way, your guests won’t feel the need to buy you something you will never use and you will never ever be able to return.
