There are only a few things that your guests will remember from your wedding: how tasty the food was, how beautiful the bride looked, and how good the music was. So to make sure that your wedding band or DJ are ready to rock the party, here are eight things you should chat about them with before you start warming up on the dance floor.
Ask them ahead of time if they have a list of songs they recommend playing throughout the wedding. If they leave that list up to you, be sure to provide them with the songs you want to get down on the dance floor to before your wedding swings around.
Get a confirmed arrival time from them before your wedding. Make sure they arrive with enough time to get set up. Also find out when they plan to leave. If you want to have them stick around for the after party, negotiate this into your contract before the night comes.
After you’ve provided them with a list of what’s going to happen when (toasts, dinner, first dances) ask if they have any questions or suggestions to make the flow of the nigh run smoothly.
If they require payment on the night of your wedding, see if you can pay them before hand (if you’re comfortable doing that) or on the day after the wedding.
Be sure to ask if there’s anything not included in your package (lighting, speakers, etc.). You don’t want to be surprised later on!
If you’d like them to bring sunglasses or any dance floor props, ask for that in advance.
Having trouble picking your first dance or entrance song? Refer to them for popular suggestions.
If they start to see the crowd getting tired or uninterested in dancing, ask them to change the songs to something more upbeat.
