Wearing white is hard to do. Not only is it hard to pull off an all-white outfit on any ordinary day, but it’s also hard to keep that white outfit stain free. So after you have found, secured, and beautifully altered the wedding dress of your dreams, It’s important to protect your dress on the day of your wedding so that you don’t have to walk down the aisle with a dress that looks like it got hit with a paintball gun. Here are four easy techniques to follow to keep that dress looking pearly white, all night.
Your wedding day is the day when you should skip eating messy foods. Chipotle burrito with extra guacamole? French fries with a side cup of ketchup? Vegetables with ranch dressing as a dip? Do yourself a favor and avoid those foods. Stick with foods that don’t drip easily. Get buddy buddy with finger foods that you easily put in your mouth without getting everywhere else. Try to avoid soda or wine before the ceremony as well in case of a spill – or slurp down those drinks with a straw.
Cover yourself with garbage bags or towels or handfuls of paper towels when you’re eating or getting makeup touch ups. If there was ever a time to wrap yourself up like a mummy, now would be it.
When you’re posing for photos throughout the night with your guests, watch out for the people who look like they might spill their drink all over the place. Ask people to put down their glasses, their forks, and even their dirty napkins before posing for a picture with you. This will help you make it to the finish line of your wedding without a dress that looks like it has finger paint all over it.
Lots and lots of it. Get the stain remover pens, cloths, sprays. Have it all. Have a whole tote bag stuffed with it. It’ll come in handy if any stains suddenly try to make their way to the center stage of your wedding day.
