It’s commonly said that rain on your wedding day is good luck. Whether or not that’s an ancient myth or a true statement, it’s always a good idea to have a rain back-up plan in place, especially if parts of your wedding are outdoors. 1. Talk to the Venue

When you’re making plans with the venue, ask them to create a back-up plan for you of where the ceremony and even the reception can be if it is raining outside.

 

2. Consider Buying Tents

If your venue doesn’t have any way to help you with a back-up plan, or you’re getting married somewhere entirely outdoors, consider investing in tents. You can put them on hold at most party rental places and check the weather the week of your wedding to see if you’ll need them.

 

3. Buy Some Extra Umbrellas

Come prepared with extra umbrellas that you can leave around the venue in case people need to step outside. You can also buy some festive and cute ones and use them in photos with your fiancé.

 

4. Be Decisive

If the weather channel says it’s going to rain that day but the sky is playing games with you, be sure to make a call early on in the day in regards to whether or not you want to roll out your wedding rain-day back-up plan. That way, you’ll have enough time to alert vendors of any and all set up changes.

 

5. Keep Guests Posted

If you make any changes to the start time of the wedding or even the location because of the rain, be sure to alert your guests. Keep them in the loop so they know when and where to arrive.

 

6. Try to Stay Positive

In the end, it’s just rain. But it’s also still your wedding day. Try to make the most of it and stay positive, that way you can pass that attitude onto your guests and still enjoy your special day.
