4 Things to Do If You Think You Have Cold Feet Before Your Wedding

Weddings are stressful, that’s a fact. So stressful that often times the whole wedding experience can make you a little more emotional, anxious, and sleep-deprived than usual. It may push your buttons in so many different ways that you may find yourself asking: do I even want to get married? Am I having cold feet? It happens all of the time, and no matter what you think, you’re not alone. So, if you’re about to get married and you’re starting to wonder if walking down the aisle and into the arms of your forever person is what you actually want to do, here are four things to do to help you when you have those thoughts circling inside of your head.

  1. Spend some alone time

Get away from it all, the wedding planning, the emails, the stress from your bridal party doing everything but what you’d like them to do. Runaway, for a few days, letting people know where you’re going but taking some time and putting your phone on airplane mode. Clear your head and get to a place where you feel like you’re starting to think like yourself again. Then try to wrap yourself around the situation of having cold feet.

  1. Open Up to Someone You Trust

Whether it’s your MOH, a family member, or another person in your life, let them know how you’re feeling. Sometimes, just by talking and letting things off your chest to another person, who doesn’t give you much advice at all, you’ll be able to come to a conclusion or a solution.

  1. Be Open With Your Significant Other

Have a conversation with them and let them know how you’re feeling about the whole thing, even if you have some reservations. Stay open and honest with them.

  1. Find the Root of the Situation

Try to determine if your cold feet is because of all the stress the wedding has put on you or because you truthfully don’t want to get married.
