3 Alternative Places to Register for Your Wedding

Your wedding is truly one of the only times when you can let people know exactly what kind of gifts and presents you would like them to get you with a wedding registry. While some couples scurry their way over to a major department store or a home good specialty store to register there, other couples are eager to do something a little out of the box. If you don’t need another food processor and the idea of a third blender makes your head spin a little bit, the good news is there are several other type of registries you can check out and sign up with. To help get you started, here are four alternative types of registries to check out.

  1. Charity

If your house is already fully stocked with three different types of coffee makers and you don’t need any new bed sheets or towels, you can consider signing up for a registry that has your wedding guests sending the amount they would give to you as a gift to a charity, organization, or philanthropy of your choice. You can even select multiple places to give to so that your wedding guests have options as well.

  1. Vacation

If you’ve always been the kind of person who desperately wants to take their passport out of their night stand and get it covered in stamps, you can sign up for a travel or vacation registry. That way your guests can contribute to a fund that lets you pick up and go to a couple of different countries or places of your choosing. Part of that registry can have them funding your airfare, hotels, attractions, or even just a general fund to cover your food when you’re on the road. This is a perfect way to also have them give a gift that covers your honeymoon travel as well.

  1. Personal Wants

There are general registries out there now where you can list all different kinds of things you want that are personal and even hobby related. People ask for money so they can take guitar lessons or even buy art supplies. In the end, a gift is a gift, and when you’re throwing the celebration of a lifetime for your friends and families, you should at least try to get the kind of gifts that you want and won’t sit in a box in your garage for a century.
