3 Unique Ways to Do a First Look

The nerves and the excitement will be pumping through your heart right as you go to do your first look and catch a glimpse of your fiancé for the very first time. This is one of the highlights of the wedding day and should be planned and executed in a way that makes it extra special and heartwarming for the couple. So instead of just meeting in the lobby or waiting for one person to tap the other on the shoulder, here are three unique ways to do a wedding day first look.

  1. Set Up Cameras Beforehand

To keep the first look intimate, kick out the photographers and the videographers. Often times, just having one or two people in the room can throw off the whole moment. Set up video cameras in the room before, so that when the first look happens, it is really only the two of you.

  1. Arrive at the Same Time

Arrange the first look so both of you arrive at exactly the same time. This way, one person isn’t waiting in the room alone. You can do it where both of you are on either sides of a door and on the count of three, you open the door. Or where you both step out of side-by-side elevators at once. It will be even more of an equal and intimate surprise this way.

  1. Go Somewhere With Meaning

Typically the first look kicks off a series of pre-wedding couple photos. You can use the first look as an opportunity to go some place other than the venue or where the ceremony is taking place, whether it is somewhere that means something to you and your relationship or some place nearby that you both enjoy.
