After accepting to be a bridesmaid, whether it’s your first or third time, you may find yourself scrambling to find out what to do next. You may find yourself waking up at 4am, the month before the wedding, wonder if you forgot to do something and now the bride is never going to speak to you again. I doubt that’s going to happen, but to help calm your nerves a bit, here’s a list of 5 things all bridesmaids will have to do, along with when you should check them off your list to do them.
Try not to get flimsy with this. Order your dress as soon as the bride gives you the okay on what dress she’d like you to wear. If you wait to late, you may be overwhelmed with stress trying to find a way to get the dress ordered and shipped to you before you walk down the aisle.
Once you get the dates and locations of the bridal shower, bachelorette party, and wedding, book your travel ASAP. You’ll save money this way and you’ll be able to ease the bride’s nerves by telling her that you are 100% coming to the wedding events.
Don’t forget to do this! After the bride asks you, be sure to give her your answer within 48 hours.
When the wedding invitation comes in the mail, you may feel like you don’t have to RSVP because you’re a bridesmaid and you think the bride knows you’re coming. But you do! So send back that card, also, within 48 hours of receiving it.
Scope out the bride’s registry and plan and buy the gifts you’d like to give beforehand. That way, you’re not scrambling the day before the bridal shower, noticing that everything on the registry has been bought already.
