Bridal showers are a great celebration for all the women in your life to come together and celebrate you as a bride-to-be. Often times, good food and a couple of games, are enough to keep the bridal shower engaging and fun. But if you, as the bride, are helping a family member or even your bridesmaids plan the shower, you may start to think to yourself: do I need a theme to the shower?
Some brides are starting to consider doing away with a bridal shower because after the fifth one people attend, they all begin to feel the same. One way to separate yours from the next is by choosing a theme or even an alternative location for the shower. It doesn’t have to be a Sunday afternoon brunch and it doesn’t need to be an afternoon of food and opening presents. Instead, it can have a theme, based on your interests or your personality or even something that connects you and your fiancé together. Or it can be an activity that you enjoy doing. How about a Zumba-themed bridal shower or even one at a bowling alley? That way, it will get your guests out of a chair and doing something different and fun.
If you’re struggling to figure out what theme to make it or what activity to do, sit down and brainstorm fun things you wish you and your girlfriends could do together before the wedding. That will open your mind to the perfect bridal shower for you and your personality. If you can’t seem to think of anything, ask your bridesmaids or close family members for suggestions. If you’re willing to be a bit daring, have them surprise you with a theme or activity. That way, it will be something very out of the box and even, perhaps, out of your comfort zone.
