If you’re planning on saying I do in the summer months, you can be sure that your own of town guests are excited for some pre-wedding outdoors time. So whether you’re having your ceremony outside and your reception in, or you’re getting married at a location that has a lot of great outdoor spots for people to check out, the best thing you can do is get your guests prepared, starting with what’s inside their welcome bag. Here are 5 easy ways to give those bags a nice summer twist.
Pack some mini tubes of sunscreen and aloe in your wedding welcome bag so that guests can frolic outdoors without worrying about getting their shoulders burned. You can even custom make sunglasses, with your wedding hashtag or new last name on the side of them, for your guests to wear before and even during your wedding.
While you may have an urge to put some libations in your guest’s welcome bags, so they can get the party started before the open bar happens, you’ll also want to give them a couple of bottles of water too. Keep them hydrated and healthy before you say I do.
Provide your guest with a sample itinerary of local outdoor places they should go off and sightsee while they are in town. Or, if the hotel they are staying at has a great outdoor pool, guide them to spend an afternoon there.
If you’re planning on having an outdoor ceremony, stuff your guests welcome bags with either a handheld paper fan that they can bring with them to stay cool on the day of your wedding.
One of the best things you can add to a welcome bag is food. Snacks make your out of town guests very happy and satisfied. So be sure to add some fresh fruit to the bag during the summer season.
