After the wedding is over, you’ll probably want to spend a good day or two laying in bed, digesting all the memories, swiping through all the photographs on your phone, and of course, packing your bags for your once in a lifetime honeymoon getaway. But before you can take a breather and crawl into pajamas, you’ll have one last wedding event to throw and entertain your out of town guest. That’s the post-wedding brunch, often thrown late on Sunday morning, as one last hoorah for guests before they head in their cars, on a train, or an airplane and head back home. But instead of draining your bank account even more and throwing a second mini wedding, less than 24 hours after the main event, here are 3 alternatives to doing a post-wedding sit down brunch.
Since out of town guests will have varying travel schedules, instead of having a scheduled sit down brunch for them to feast on, you can arrange for a casual grab and go breakfast of bagels or fruit and yogurt that they can eat on-the-go or quickly before heading out.
Instead of doing an organized Sunday brunch, you can create a post-wedding bag (similar to the welcome bag you greeted them with when they arrived). Inside you can include pre-packaged breakfast food and other morning after items like Advil, Band-Aids, and instant-made coffee to give them a good morning jolt of energy.
If you’re looking to something more traditional, you can hold a buffet-style morning brunch, that way people can come downstairs and grab some food, sit down at tables, and eat at their leisure. You can keep the buffet simple with three or four breakfast food options, and of course coffee (lots of coffee) and juice on the side.
