It may seem like a good, inexpensive idea to DIY your wedding decorations instead of paying a professional to make them, but you may end up spending more than you think. Unless you have access to all different types of crafts and supplies, purchasing these things individually may have you spending double.

 

  1. You’ll Go Broke Throwing the Wedding of Your Dreams

Wedding are infamously known for how expensive they can be and how you, or your family, will practically go into debt trying to through the party of a lifetime. But it doesn’t have to be more expensive than you can afford. Set a budget early on and make a list of must-haves verse nice-to-haves.

 

  1. You Need to Hire a Wedding Planner

It may seem like the only way your wedding is going to be planned from start to finish is if you hire some professional help. Even if you’re not the greatest at event planning, you can turn to many free resources to help you and save a couple thousand dollars on a planner.

 

  1. You Have to Have an Even Bridal Party

If you and your fiancé have a different amount of people you want to ask to be in your different wedding parties, you don’t have to invite one more or one less to make the number even. It’s okay if you have 8 bridesmaids and he has 6 groomsmen.

 

  1. You Have to Invite Them if They Invited You

When you’re planning out your guest list, erase the thought that you need to invite people to your wedding just because they invited you to theirs. Even if their wedding was many years ago or just last month, only invite them to your wedding if you want them there.

Planning a wedding can be filled with a lot of stress, anxiety, and pressure from family members, who want to get involved in every single decision. Wedding planning can also be a therapeutic and fun experience. Just make sure you keep organized, set a budget, and try to enjoy yourself throughout the entire wedding adventure.
