Going paperless with your Save-the-Dates is an idea that can save you a lot of cash and even let you add some unique and personal touches that will excite your guests. So if you’re considering having sending out a virtual Save-the-Date to your wedding guests, here are 6 things you should know, and even do, before you press the send button.
1. Have a Second Option
Going paperless with your Save-the-Dates is a great option for your tech-savvy guests, but have a backup plan for guests that don’t have email or check their email very often. Maybe print a handful of Save-the-Dates to send out to some guests who may appreciate receiving this invitation in their mailbox.
2. Pay Attention to Email Bounce Backs
When you send out your virtual Save-the-Dates, be sure to check your email and see if any of them didn’t go through or if any of the email addresses were incorrect. Make a list of bounce backs and contact them separately with the Save-the-date.
3. Link to Your Wedding Website
Since you’re sending this out virtually, include a clickable link to your wedding site. That way people can be routed directly to your website for more information and a link to your registry.
4. Let Them Know How They’ll Receive the Invitation
If you are mailing the invitation, let them know they should check their mailbox in a few months for more details. If you’re also sending the invitation virtually, let them know they should check their inbox.
5. Consider Adding a Video to It
Don’t limit yourself to a Save-the-Date that just has a photo on it. Add or create a video and send that along with it.
6. Double Check the Emails
Before sending out your Save-the-Date email, make sure you have all the correct email addresses for your guests and make sure that your list is correct before pressing the send button. It’s easier to make a mistake virtually.
