4 Dates to Keep on Your Calendar When You’re a MOH

As a MOH, it’s likely that you’ve drawn a gigantic circle the size of mars around the bride’s wedding date. At any given moment, you can even probably gargle off a countdown of how many days are left until she walks down the aisle and becomes a Mrs. But, when the wedding adventure first kicks off, it’s important to mark your calendar with a couple more important dates. Dates you’ll want to try really hard not to miss and dates that you’ll probably need some preplanning to make sure they go off without a hitch. Ready to see the top 4 dates all MOH’s should mark on their calendars? Let’s take a look!

  1. The couple’s anniversaries

There may be a few of these, like the anniversary of them becoming boyfriend and girlfriend and their engagement anniversary. These are dates the bride knows as well as her birthday, by know. Though you don’t have to do anything for these dates, it’s nice to know them as her MOH and send her a couple of smiley face emoji’s on those days.

  1. Pre-Wedding Events

I’m talking the bachelorette party, the bridal shower, the engagement party. If you can’t make it to all of these events, that’s okay. But, you should know when and where they are taking place. As the MOH, you’ll often be the go-to person for the rest of the bridal party. Take a mental picture of the invitation for all of these events.

  1. The rehearsal

Typically this Is the night before the wedding and comes right before a dinner event with the bride and groom’s family. But as the MOH, it’s important you’re there to rehearse the details of how the wedding ceremony will go and who is walking down the aisle with who.

  1. Honeymoon Vacation

Unfortunately, you won’t get to go on this vacation of a lifetime with the bride and the groom, but knowing when they take off for their honeymoon will be helpful. If it’s right after the wedding, perhaps offer to help store gifts and decorations from their wedding until they get back. If it’s many months away, you can even put together a honeymoon survival kit for the bride!
