After the appetizers have been passed around at cocktail hour and your wedding guests have devoured the entrees during the reception, the greatest way to end the night is with dessert. By the end of your wedding, your guests will likely have sweated off the food they ate and start to get hungry for a late night treat. If you’re looking to have a traditional cake, with a twist, or just skip the cake altogether, here are 4 ideas for a dessert bar on your wedding day.

  1. Give a Cold Treat

End the night with a good chill and put together an ice cream bar. You can have one table with different toppings and another with different flavors of ice cream. Ice cream is a light treat to end the night with and something that people can take as little or as much as they desire.

  1. Mix it Up

Mini-milkshake bars are a fun late-night treats for guests. To make this bar work best, have the venue prepare the milkshakes beforehand and toss them in the freezer. That way, at the end of the night, you can have them displayed on a table for your guests to grab.

  1. Remember Everyone Loves Candy

Make your dessert bar something people can take home with them. With a candy bar, you can have tins or small bags that guests can grab and fill up with candy to munch on at the party and to take home with them. You can include candy that you and your fiancé love the most and even some of your guests favorites as well.

  1. Get Into the Dough

If you’re a donut person, you can create a donut bar with toppings that your guests can put on different flavored donuts. Include donuts of all different sizes and even get creative with the shapes.
