You may have done a great job checking things off your pre-wedding to-do list and diffusing any pre-wedding pop-up problems that flew in your direction. But one thing you can’t always control is how your guests will act when they are at your wedding. Will they show up late? Drink too much? Get into a fight? Or just find themselves forgetting they are at a wedding all together? Here’s a list of the 7 major mistakes some of your wedding guests will make.
1. Showing Up Late
Even though you added in some buffer time for when your ceremony actually starts, some guests will ignore the time and show up casually in the middle of the ceremony. To avoid distractions, have a sign on the door when the ceremony starts asking late guests to wait outside.
2. Forgetting to RSVP
When it’s time to sit down and see who is actually coming to your wedding, you may notice a handful of guests haven’t RSVP’ed yet. You’ll want to track them down for an answer as soon as you can.
3. Posting Photos on Social Media
Watch out for any iPhone cameras in your face before the wedding. You may have a guest or two that sees you before it’s time to walk down the aisle and takes full advantage of that moment by posting it on Facebook prematurely.
4. Taking Full Advantage of the Open Bar
Ask the bartender to keep an eye out for any guests taking too many shots, too soon. You don’t want your open bar to be their excuse to get very drunk at your wedding.
5. Not Leaving Drama at the Door
One of your guests may have a messy tiff with another guest and use your wedding as a place to try and hash out the situation. Remind them that this is not the time or the place.
6. Keeping Their Phones on Loud
You never know, you may be reading your vows to the background tune of someone’s ringtone blaring in the near distance.
7. Bringing an Uninvited Plus One
Even though you didn’t give one of your guests a plus one, they may still find the urge to bring someone. Have extra chairs around just in case.
