When you pop the question to your bridesmaids, asking them to stand by your side on your special day, you both will be overwhelmed with intense joy and impeding emotions. Being asked to be a bridesmaid is one of the best honors you can give a close friend of yours. But whether or not the person you’re asking has been a bridesmaid a handful of times, or never before until now, here’s a quick list of five things you should fill your girls in on after they say I Do!

  1. Maid of Honor Duties

Let them know who you’ve asked to be your maid-of-honor and let them know that they can turn to her with any questions they have. That way they have another person throughout the wedding adventure to turn to if you things get hectic and stressful on your end.

  1. Who else made the list

After you ask each bridesmaid, share with them the contact information of the whole bridal party. That way they know who they’ll be in the bridal party with and how to reach them for any planning or logistics that they may need to discuss.

  1. What the dress code is

Chances are when you choose your bridesmaids you probably haven’t picked out their bridesmaid dress yet. Keep them in loop on a timeframe that you expect to have their dress selected by and when they should expect to head over to the store and order it in their size.

  1. What pre-wedding events you’re having

If you know you’d like to have a bachelorette party and a bridal shower, or maybe just a bridal shower, let them know ahead of time so that they can plan out a budget and block off potential time to attend those events.

  1. What they can help with

One of the first questions your bridal party will ask you is how they can help? If you already know there’s certain areas you need an extra pair of hands with, let them know that you’d like them to help out with x,y or z in the wedding process.
